Here's How You Can Help St. Mary's Food Bank
"Send Hunger Packing"
1) Cash
Donations: Cash donations are the best way to fight hunger. For every
dollar donated to St. Mary's, the Food Bank can provide enough food to
distribute seven meals into the community. Given that a candy bar in a
convenience store costs about one dollar, it shows the buying power a donated
dollar can provide.
2) Food
Drives: Food Drives are counted on to help fill food boxes. The need is
actually largest in the summer months! Whether the food box is set up in your
office, church, or driveway, collecting non-perishable food items fills the
30,000 Emergency Food Boxes St. Mary's distributes each month. The food
collected from the holiday season is long gone! Those supplies need to be
replenished now!
3)
Volunteer to help at St. Mary's: Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Food Bank
and are always needed to pick up, sort, pack, and distribute food. Last year,
volunteers worked more than 373,000 hours at St. Mary's locations throughout
the state- doubling the Food Bank's work force.
