Janel Peoples is the loving mother of two successful young men. For over 20 years, Janel has been there to support her sons and all of their friends in everything they ever decided to do. Her boys, being involved in every sport possible, allowed her to become involved with their middle schools and high schools. She started an organization for the young men of the Independence High School football team to eat a homemade breakfast for Saturday morning practices and raised money to allow the team to afford apparel and a banquet. Janel has always put her children first and she has taken in many as her own. When her oldest son had nowhere to go and desperately needed a place to go, Janel opened her door to help him in any way needed. She is one of the most loving people I know. Personally, Janel has been there for me through some of the most difficult times of my life. More than anyone in our community, Janel is a hero to many. She has touched the lives of many people with her inspirational talks and her deep understanding of how it is to be a teenager. Janel has truly done so much for her family, for Independence High School, her friends, and for me. Please, allow this nomination allow her to win, to show her how truly loved she is by everyone she surrounds! Thank you.
