![]() | My sister Jenny is a true hero - she saved my daughter's life, and gave us the chance to know our son before he passed. Our twins were born prematurely in Mexico, and had little to no chance of surviving. My sister spent thousand of dollars to bring us home and get the twins into Phoenix Children's. We exhausted our life savings for their emergency care in the NICU - so she took in our whole family. When it was time for the twins to come home her and her coworkers donated everything we needed for the babies. Our son died in his sleep, and needless to say, I panicked when I found him and couldn't think straight. I didn't want my 5-yr-old to see him so I passed my sister my son. Trust me - it takes a true hero to do what my sister did that night. She took my dead son from my arms while I collected my wits enough to begin to give him CPR in an attempt to bring him back. She stood by my side until the emergency crew arrived and confirmed his death. Since then she has supported us enormously both financially and emotionally, and really helped us get back on our feet after this tragedy. She has been there - putting her own needs aside and sacrificing tremendously. She has been an angel to our five-yr-old and given him a comforting person to confide in throughout his grief as well. My big sis has always been there looking out for me and taking care of me. Growing up she took care of me and my mom, so she's always been almost like a mom to me, but also my best friend. When I see my daughter everyday I recognize how lucky I am to have had my sister there - she is a true hero as she gave my daughter the gift of life, and gave us all a chance to know our son and allow him to pass quietly at home. Pretty grim I know so if she wins - & she should! edit as needed Signed, |
