As we know, COVID-19 has changed the course of life for all, and graduation is no exception. To recognize this achievement for their nursing graduates, Brookline College is convening a “drive-through” pinning ceremony.

“While a traditional pinning ceremony is not an option this year, it’s important to honor the ritual that culminates the completion of one’s nursing degree – and that’s a pinning ceremony” Commented Patricia Burrill, MSN, RN, Dean of the Nursing Program at Brookline College in Phoenix.

Graduates will receive their pin with complete safety precautions and social distancing. And promptly at 10:10am will recite the Florence Nightingale pledge:

I solemnly pledge myself before God and in the presence of this assembly, to pass my life in purity and to practice my profession faithfully. I will abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous and will not take or knowingly administer any harmful drug. I will do all in my power to maintain and elevate the standard of my profession, and will hold in confidence all personal matters committed to my keeping and all family affairs coming to my knowledge in the practice of my calling. With loyalty will I endeavor to aid the physician in his work and devote myself to the welfare of those committed to my care.

We will be having a booth for students to receive their diplomas, and a final booth for student photographs.

Brookline College is a private college with locations in Phoenix, Tempe, Tucson, Albuquerque and online. It offers programs in business, healthcare, law and nursing.
